Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was conceived in Miami, Florida on November 30, 1977. American electro house music producer, D.J., and record producer Steve Aoki is his name. Music executive. He is the third child of Rocky Aoki and Chizuru Kbayashi. His father was a former wrestler, and was also instrumental in helping to create the restaurant chain Benihana. He has two older siblings, a sister Kana (who is often referred to Grace, her middle name) Grace) & brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi restaurant). His half-sister is Devon Aoki, a model and actress. He grew up in Newport Beach, California & graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1995. There he was a member of the varsity badminton team. He attended UC Santa Barbara and graduated with two B.A. degrees: one of which was in feminist studies and the other in sociology. He produced DIY records and also hosted underground music events from his Biko room at the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative when he was in college. For its use as a venue for concerts, the room became known as The Pickle Patch. He was also active in student activism during his time at UCSB. He established a Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League Chapter on campus. In his early 20s he had built his own record label, which was called Dim Mak. It was a reference to his idol from childhood Bruce Lee. In March of 2010, he came out with I'm in the House, a collaboration with the Zuper Blahq-alter-ego of The Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am. It hit No. 29 in the U.K. Singles Chart in its 1st week of release. The song was ranked in the top five on both the U.K. Indie Chart and the U.K. Dance Chart. The track was featured on the MTV show Jersey Shore as well as in the feature film Piranha and the trailer for Think Like A Man. In a May interview with HitQuarters, Lucas Secon, the producer-songwriter, confirmed that he and Rivers Cuomo had just worked on a single. The song was named the highest-grossing American dance artist by Pollstar in 2012. He has worked with many artists such as Afrojack and Linkin Park, Afrojack. Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon. Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS. Louis Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vii & Fall Out Boy. He is known for remixing artists such as Kid Cudi.
