Britney Jean Spears was born in McComb, Mississippi, and was raised in Kentwood. Britney took dance classes as a youngster and was a great gymnast. She won numerous contests. Britney was a great dancer and singer. Britney was just 8 years old when the time came for her to be a part of The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989), however her age and youth led to her being denied. Britney was later recommended to Broadway's off-Broadway show "Ruthless" in which she played the lead role for two years. The show was re-run for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989), this time as a mouseketeer. Her big break, however, came after she was signed a Jive Recording Artist in the latter part of the 90s. When she released her debut album"Baby One Last Time" "...Baby One More Time" in the beginning of 1999, Britney became a global hit with 13 million copies of "Baby" and 9 million (as as of July 2001) of her second album "Oops !...I Did It Again" which was released in May 2000. Britney was the daughter of Lynne Spears (and Jamie Spears) and has a bigger sister named Jamie Lynn Spears. Britney was a daughter of Madonna, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston, was always determined to be a celebrity. After years of intensive dance and vocal lessons and participating in numerous shows and fairs, Britney auditioned for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) TV show (from 1989 to 1994) when she was 8, however, she was too young to play the part. Instead, Britney, her mother and baby sister relocated to New York where she starred in several TV commercials as well as an off-Broadway play, "Ruthless", where she was a student of Natalie Portman. The passion for dance and music grew and, two years later, she auditioned for an appearance on "Mickey Mouse" again, and this time, won the part with Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake.
