Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, an actor and musician, is well-known for his tough-edged roles or wisecracking characters in action films. He has appeared in more than $2.5 billion in films. Walter Bruce Willis was born March 19, 1955 in Idar-Oberstein (West Germany) to Marlene Kassel and David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point New Jersey), both of whom lived at an United States military base. His family moved to U.S. soon after he was born. Willis was born in Penns Grove by his mother who worked in an institution, and his father, a welder employed in a factory and welder. Willis began to show an interest in dramatic arts while in high school. He was "discovered" during his time working at an New York City cafe. Then, he was a part of various off-Broadway productions. As a bartender one night it was discovered that he was spotted by a casting director who appreciated his style and wanted an bartender for a brief film part. Willis tried out for a variety of film roles, but was not acknowledged. He eventually got the part of David Addison, a private eye, alongside Cybill Shepherd in the romantic comedy show Moonlighting (1985). His witty and sarcastic P.I. Some view it as an exercise in preparation to test Willis his role in Die Hard (1988), where he defeated the gang of thieves at the Los Angeles skyscraper. He reprised the role of McClane in the sequel, Die Hard 2 (1990), set at a snow-covered Washington's Dulles International Airport as a group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers seek to get back an infamous South American general. The film's impressive box office results prompted an sequel to Die Hard with bloodshed (1995). This time, Samuel L. Jackson starred as a cynical Harlem shopkeeper who was not aware of the fact that he was required to help McClane in the aftermath of a terrorist attack on a scorching New York City day.
