Zachary Galifianakis

Zachary Knight Galifianakis Greek pronunciation (born October 1 1969): American comedian, musician, comedian, and writer. He was a part of the Comedy Central Presents special and presented his show Late World with Zach on VH1. Galifianakis has been in films that include The Hangover trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010), The Campaign (2012), Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014) and Masterminds (2016). Galifianakis also voiced characters in animated films such as Puss in Boots (2011). The Lego Batman Movie (2017). Missing Link (2019). Ron's Gone The Wrong Way (2021). Galifianakis is currently the host of the Funny or Die talk show Between Two Ferns, with Zach Galifianakis. He was a regular on FX's series Baskets. In 2017 Galifianakis was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Lead Actor for a Comedy Series. Zachary Knight Galifianakis was born in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, on the 1st October 1969. the child of the community arts center proprietor Mary Frances (nee Cashion) and heating oil vendor Harry Galifianakis. His mother is an English-Irish and Scottish and his paternal grandparents are Greek immigrants from Crete. He was baptized into the father's Greek Orthodox faith. He is the younger brother of named Merritt, as well as an elder brother, Greg. His cousin Nick Galifianakis is a Washington Post cartoonist and his uncle Nick Galifianakis is also a politician. Galifianakis attended Wilkes Central High School and after that, he attended North Carolina State University where he studied communications. He was an operator of a radio station at an access station for the public while at college. In 1991, he taught the class of waltz and met Mary J. Blige. After his television debut Boston Common, Galifianakis joined Saturday Night Live for two weeks. He has stated "I worked on Saturday Night Live for two weeks. Britney Spears hosted the show one week when I was working. Wrote a sketch, Will Ferrell was going to play a bodyguard to her belly button as we tried to shrink Will down so that she could fit in the belly button. When I explained the idea to them, she looked at me. Then she replied, "Yeah, that's funny." Galifianakis co-starred in the film Out Cold, and had small role in Corky Romano, Below, Bubble Boy, Heartbreakers, Into the Wild, Super High Me, Little Fish Strange Pond and Largo.
