Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams was born on the 17th
of November 1978 in London, Ontario, Canada She was the daughter of Sandra Kay
(Gale), a nurse and Lance Frederick McAdams who is truck driver and furniture
moving. She is English, Welsh and Irish-born. Rachel began acting when she was
a teenager. At the age of 13, she was performing in Shakespearean performances
at summer theatre camps. After graduating, Rachel received a BFA degree from
York University in Theater. Following her TV debut in Disney's The Famous Jett
Jackson in 1998, Rachel appeared in Canadian television's Slings and Arrows
2003. This comedy-drama follows the struggles of Shakespearean theater groups.
She won the Gemini Award for her performance in 2003. Her breakthrough role in
Mean Girls (2004) as Regina George instantly landed her on the list of
Hollywood's most sought-after of young actors. In the following film she
co-starred with Ryan Gosling as the romantic drama adaptation of Nicholas
Sparks' bestseller The Notebook (2004). This was a huge success at the box
office and quickly became the most popular romantic drama for a young audience.
After the film was completed, McAdams and Gosling became romantically linked
and began dating through mid-2007. McAdams and Gosling soon were in a relationship
and began to meet. After appearing in The Lucky Ones, a military drama, State
of Play, and The Time Traveler's Wife (2009), McAdams appeared opposite Jude
Law and Robert Downey Jr. in Guy Ritchie's international blockbuster Sherlock
Holmes. McAdams was the smart producer of Morning Glory (2010). She also was
the fiancee with a materialistic character Owen Wilson in Woody Allen’s
Midnight in Paris (2011). McAdams returned to romantic drama with The Vow
(2012), which she starred opposite Channing Tatum. McAdams also starred
alongside Ben Affleck in Terrence Malick's To the Wonder (2012) as well as
alongside Noomi Rapace in Brian De Palma's thriller Passion (2012).In 2005,
McAdams received ShoWest's "Supporting Actress of the Year" Award as
well as the "Breakthrough Actress of the Year" at the Hollywood Film
