Big Time Rush
Big Time Rush is an American pop boy
band was founded in the year 2009. The group is comprised of Kendall Schmidt,
James Maslow, Logan Henderson, and Carlos PenaVega. They initially signed with
Nick Records in 2009 before transferring to Columbia Records. The group was
featured in Nickelodeon's television series Big Time Rush. From November 28th,
2009 to July 25 of 2013, the show was on air. The pilot episode included
"Big Time Rush" the group's debut promotional single. The group
released three studio albums: BTR in 2010, Elevate 2011 and 24/Seven in 2013.
The band took an indefinite hiatus from 2014 which lasted until 2021, when they
resumed live shows and released the single "Call It Like I See It".
Nickelodeon signed Big Time Rush to an album deal in 2009 in conjunction with
its television show, Big Time Rush. Nickelodeon has also teamed up with
Columbia/Epic Label Group for production and original music. The first single
from the group, "Big Time Rush", appeared on the series on November
29th, 2009. The announcement was made by Nickelodeon in November 2009, the
series premiered for the first time in the Americas. The song was later
released internationally. It was featured on a preview of the series for one
hour and serves as the show's first tune. The show also saw release of
promotional singles, including "City is Ours" and "Any Kind of
Guy". Big Time Rush also covered a Play song called "Famous".
The song was released on iTunes on June 29th 2010. Another track, "Halfway
There", was released to iTunes on April 27, 2010, after its premiere on
the show. It quickly became the first charting song on the Billboard Hot 100.
Due to sales on digital platforms the song climbed to number 93. On September
21 in 2010, Big Time Rush released second single "Till I Forget About
You" in promotion of the release of their debut album. On the 11th of
October, 2010 the album, which was titled BTR was released to the general
public. The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200. It sold 67,000
copies its first week.
