Anna Kendrick
Anna Kendrick was born in Portland,
Maine, to Janice (Cooke), an accountant as well as William Kendrick, a teacher.
Michael Cooke Kendrick is her older brother, and has also been an actor. She is
of English, Irish, and Scottish descent.For her performance in the role of
"Dinah" in "High Society" on Broadway, Anna Kendrick was
nominated for a Tony Award (second youngest ever) and a Drama Desk Award, and a
Fany Award (best actress featured in the musical). She won the Drama League
Award and Theatre World Award for her performance. She also had the pleasure of
working with director Scott Ellis and choreographer Susan Stroman at the New
York City Opera House together with Jeremy Irons amongst many more celebrity
status actors, playing the part of "Fredrika" in "A Little Night
Music".Anna worked-shopped "Jane Eyre" & "The
Little Princess" for Broadway and also starred in the film Camp (2003)
with director Todd Graff.Was nominated for the 1998 Broadway Tony Award as Best
Actress (Featured role - Musical) for the musical "High Society."
After 1991's Tony award winner Daisy Eagan, she was the second-youngest
candidate. George Clooney ridiculed her at the NYC Opera House. Jeremy Irons
and choreographer Susan Stroman. The actress also appeared in "Jane
Eyre" and "The Little Princess" for Broadway. In 1998, Jason
Reitman cast her in Up in the Air. It was following her performance in Rocket
Science (2007). The only actress from the 'Twilight' Saga to receive an Oscar.
In the year 2010, she was nominated to play Natalie Keener for the second and
third episodes of the series. She graduated from Deering High School in
Portland, Maine in 2003. London was where she was filming Into the Woods
(2014). In September 2013, she has the unique distinction of appearing on three
major screen musicals – Into the Woods (2014).
