Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
rose to fame as a member of "Saturday Night Live," before appearing
in such big-screen comedy films as 'Elf"Anchorman," "Talladega
Nights.' In 1967, in Irvine, California, Will Ferrell began his career in
comedy while part of the improv group based in Los Angeles called the
Groundlings. Following his famed seven-year stint as a performer on Saturday
Night Live, he was one of the film industry's most popular comedic performers
through off-color successes like Old School (2003) and Anchorman: The Legend of
Ron Burgundy (2004). Ferrell co-founded Funny or Die, a well-known video
streaming site. He also enjoyed his success as a voice actor in animated films
, such as Megamind (2010). John William Ferrell was conceived in Irvine, California
on July 16th, 1967. The youngest child of Righteous Brothers keyboardist Lee
Ferrell and teacher Kay Ferrell, Will was--by his own admission--hardly the
class clown as a student at University High School. A quiet and solitary
person, Ferrell made his mark on the football pitch which is where he
established the school record for the most field goals made. Ferrell displayed
a lack of outlandish, humorous behavior that would define his career even at
his suburban home. In an interview with Esquire, his mother said Ferrell was
"very calm and even-tempered. He was very easygoing." "You have
seen those cute Matchbox cars? Will be lining up his Matchbox cars, by himself
and be utterly content. You'd ask, 'Do you want to visit Disneyland today or
set up your cars?' You'd have to think about it. Ferrell was not a straight
man. The hints of his comic skills showed up each morning in high school, as he
would disguise his voice in order to announce his daily activities over the PA
system. After graduation in 1986 Ferrell went to the University of Southern
California at Los Angeles, where he was a member of the Delta Tau fraternity
and pursued the field of sports journalism with a degree.
